NHS England’s Public Health Commissioning Team has undertaken a formal procurement process to re-commission the Diabetic Eye Screening Programme in the Berkshire area.
The procurement process was launched in June 2017 with a market engagement event, followed by an invitation to tender commencing in September. Having concluded a thorough process, the new contract has been awarded to Health Intelligence Ltd.
Throughout the process, the views of service users were taken into consideration by including them in the procurement evaluation to ensure the new service meets their needs and they continue to receive high quality screening.
The new service will go live from 01 April 2018. Mobilisation will commence immediately with the incumbent provider continuing to deliver screening up until their contract end date. During transition service users will continue to access the service in the same way as before. As part of mobilisation service users will be notified of the change in provider and will be consulted on any significant changes to the service model with opportunities to discuss any queries or concerns.
The Public Health Commissioning Team will be more than happy to address any questions you may have so please don’t hesitate to contact them email@example.com to discuss this matter further.
