Help design your Personal Health Record

Posted November 7, 2018

Be one of the first people in Berkshire to see and feedback on a new innovative Personal Health Record which could allow you to have immediate, easy access to information about your health and wellbeing on your smartphone.

An NHS support unit is looking for residents in West Berkshire and elsewhere in Berkshire to attend one of two discussion groups in November to seek views on:

• the look and feel of the Personal Health Record

• the types of health information you would like to have access to via the Personal Health Record

• how you would use the Personal Health Record to help better manage your health

• your wish list for longer term development.

The Newbury event will be held Wednesday 21 November 2018, 1-3pm, at Newbury Central Library, The Wharf, Newbury, West Berkshire, RG14 5AU. Another one will be held in Reading. Refreshments will be provided, including a buffet. Organisers are seeking a broad mix of residents, including people who have long-term health conditions.

The events which are part of the wider Share Your Care programme, are described as a chance to help shape new technology which will transform the way residents in Berkshire access and manage their care. Longer term, the Personal Health Record could allow you to input your own personal data and share this information with your clinician.

To sign up, visit this webpage of the NHS South West Central Commissioning Support Unit. Or contact Healthwatch West Berkshire on 01635 886 210, if you’d like to accompany one of our staff members to the event.
