Healthwatch West Berkshire on BBC – ‘The NHS must be more flexible’ to accommodate the homeless

Healthwatch West Berkshire were on both BBC Radio Berkshire and BBC South Today on 31st July 2017 talking about the difficulty homeless people in the area have in accessing health care.

Andrew Sharp, Chief Officer of Healthwatch West Berkshire stating:

‘The system has to adapt itself to say right what will work for the patient, if you look at the NHS constitution and some of the homeless people in West Berkshire. It is not being applied. They are being failed by the system’.

The Healthwatch West Berkshire annual report further elaborating that ‘the system is difficult to understand for those with often chaotic lives’.
