V365 Volunteer recruitment event

Have you considered volunteering for the new year? We are seeking volunteers. Come to the Corn Exchange in Newbury on January 12th 10am - 3pm to meet people from a range of organisations including us. Stop by for a chat to learn about us, what we do and what voluntary roles we have available.
NHS Long Term Plan

On Monday 7th January the NHS published their long term plan; developed in partnership with frontline health and care staff, patients and their families and other experts. This plan is estimated to save almost half a million more lives with practical action on major killer conditions and investment in world class, cutting edge treatments. Health and wellbeing meeting
A Health and Wellbeing Board Meeting in public is to be held at The Chamber, Town Hall, Market Place in Newbury on Jan 24th at 9:30am  More details about this meeting can be found HERE.   If you have a question for this meeting please submit it 2 working days before the meeting if it relates to the agenda, and 10 working days if the question doesn't relate to the agenda. Young Carers Awareness Day
This year Young Carers Awareness Day will be on January 31st and will focus on Mental Health. There is a survey that we will be creating for people to participate in. Please look out for details about this on social media over the coming days: Facebook | Twitter  
South Central Ambulance Service Board Meeting at Shaw House

On January 31st from 10am - 1pm there will be a SCAS Board Meeting in public at Shaw House in Newbury. Members of the public who are present at the end of the meeting will be able to ask questions. If you are unable to attend but still wish to submit a question, please submit it to Company.Secretary@scas.nhs.uk no less than 48 hours prior to the meeting. More details HERE
Recent CQC inspections

The Care Quality Commission have recently inspected some of the hospitals and surgeries in the West Berkshire area, including Boat House Surgery which was rated "Good" and the Great Western Hospital which was given the rating "Requires Improvement" though it had services rated "Good" Take a look at our CQC page HERE for details. If you use some of these services, be sure to get in touch and share your experiences.
