Last year, the local authority carried out a full review of its Adult Social Care webpages. This included working in co-production with people with learning disabilities, carers, and stroke survivors, alongside a public survey to understand how people use the information available online.
As a result of this feedback, a number of improvements were made to make the webpages more accessible and easier to navigate.
What’s changed?
Updates included:

Adding pictures and icons
Simplifying menu options
Creating “Get Started With…” pages
Introducing videos
Using clearer, plain English
Reorganising content and improving page titles
Adding guidance on adapting the website for different needs
These changes were designed to make it easier for people to find the information they need about Adult Social Care.
Why this matters
At Healthwatch, we regularly hear from residents about the importance of clear, accessible information, especially when trying to understand care options, access support, or make decisions for themselves or others.
Good information can make a real difference to people’s experiences.
Have your say
It’s now been seven months since the updated webpages went live, and the local authority is asking for feedback to understand what’s working and what could be improved further.
We’re helping to share this opportunity so that as many people as possible can take part—particularly:
People who have used the webpages
Autistic people
People with learning disabilities
People with sensory or communication needs
Carers
Take the survey
The survey takes around 5 minutes and is open until 31 May 2026:
