Berkshire West Breathing Space: A Lifeline for Emotional Support

The Berkshire West Breathing Space service offers a safe and supportive environment for individuals over 18 who are experiencing emotional distress and struggling to cope. This service is designed to provide immediate help to those in need, regardless of the reason behind their distress.

Operating by pre-booked appointments, the service is available Monday through Thursday, from 5 pm to 11 pm. Once a referral is completed, individuals are contacted within 48 hours to schedule an assessment and receive prompt support.

The Breathing Space program offers up to six pre-booked wellbeing sessions with one of their dedicated Wellbeing Workers. These sessions can be conducted in person at their central Reading hub, online via video chat, or over the phone, depending on what is preferred.

During these sessions, you can relax with a cup of tea and biscuits and openly discuss your feelings and concerns. The Wellbeing Workers are there to listen and to help you develop personalised plans to stay safe and well. This includes creating coping strategies and providing guidance on how to access additional local services and support opportunities.
