  • Carer’s Assessment

West Berkshire Council can carry out an assessment to understand your needs and the impact caring has on your life. This is not about judging how well you care, but about identifying the support you may need.

  • What support could mean - It might include help with practical tasks, information and advice, emotional support, or even a break from caring.

  • How to get started - You can complete a self-assessment form online, or request a full carer’s assessment through West Berkshire Council.

This week if you are already a carer, around 600 carers in West Berkshire will receive the statutory Carers Survey* by post.

This national survey takes place every 2 years and all councils with social care responsibilities must take part. If you receive the survey, please complete and return it.

*The survey is being sent to carers who are registered with the council.
