Health & Wellbeing Board- Asylum Seekers Report Presentation

Today Healthwatch West Berkshire, in our remit to follow up on concerns we hear about people’s experience using health and social care services, presented our report into the life of asylum seekers living in West Berkshire to the Health and Wellbeing Board.

We recognise that there are only certain elements of the picture that are in the power of the local authority to influence, and we are encouraged by the response of councillors today, who committed to giving full consideration to the recommendations presented in the report.

We look forward to working with West Berkshire Council and Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board to ensure the health and welfare of residents. Progress towards the recommendations will be reported on later in the year.
