Many of us don't think about adult social care until we or someone we love needs it. Whether it's support for an older person becoming frail, a family member living with a disability, someone recovering from illness, or a carer supporting a loved one, social care touches countless lives across our communities.

That's why Healthwatch West Berkshire want to encourage residents to take part in
The Big Conversation on Care, a national engagement exercise launched by Baroness Louise Casey's Independent Commission on Adult Social Care. The Commission has been asked by the Prime Minister to review the current adult social care system and make recommendations for the future.
Why your voice matters
The Commission is seeking views from:
People who currently receive care and support
Family members and unpaid carers
People who have used care services in the past
Care workers and providers
Anyone with an interest in how adult social care should work in the future
This is a chance to share your experiences of what is working well, what could be improved, and what kind of care and support system you would like future generations to have access to.
Adult social care affects all of us. As Baroness Casey highlights, any of us could need care at any age, and we all want to know that good-quality support will be there when we need it.
Have your say
The online conversation is now open, and residents can:
Share their ideas and experiences
Suggest improvements
Vote on other people's contributions
Join a national discussion about the future of adult social care in England
Every contribution will help inform the Commission's recommendations to government. The aim is to build a social care system that is fairer, more sustainable, and better able to support people to live fulfilling lives.
Get involved today
If you have experience of receiving care, caring for someone else, working in the sector, or simply have views about the future of adult social care, please consider taking part.
