NHS Opens Booking for Flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations Ahead of Winter

Millions of people in England can now book flu and COVID-19 vaccinations to protect themselves ahead of the winter season. The NHS is offering the vaccines to those most at risk, including people aged 65 and over, residents in care homes, and individuals with underlying health conditions.

Bookings can be made through the NHS website, NHS App, or by calling 119. Vaccinations will be available starting 3 October,

The flu and COVID-19 vaccines are also being offered to frontline healthcare workers and social care staff, whilst pregnant women and children have been eligible for flu vaccines since 1 September.

For the first time, the NHS is offering vaccines for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) to those aged 75-79 and pregnant women, aiming to prevent a “tripledemic” of flu, COVID-19, and RSV this winter. Eligible individuals will receive invitations for their vaccinations, with the option to get both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines in one visit. However, RSV vaccinations are recommended to be taken separately.

The NHS is encouraging people to get vaccinated as soon as possible to stay protected and reduce hospital admissions during the busy winter season.

For more information or to book your vaccinations, visit the NHS website or NHS app today.
