Your Questions Answered

What’s happening with the Women’s Health Strategy?
Healthwatch West Berkshire continues to monitor progress on women’s health and the development of the Women’s Health Strategy for our area. This work is ongoing, but progress has slowed due to wider organisational changes currently taking place within Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOB ICB).
Has Healthwatch asked for an update?
Yes. We have formally requested an update from BOB ICB on the next steps, timelines, and opportunities for continued involvement. At present, no further update has been provided, but we will continue to follow this up.
Does this mean the work has stopped?
No. Women’s health remains a priority. However, changes within the NHS system can affect the pace at which strategies move forward. We are working to ensure that women’s voices and experiences are not lost during this period.
What happened to the feedback women shared?
The feedback gathered through our Listening to Women in West Berkshire survey has already been shared with BOB ICB and acknowledged. It highlighted important gaps in access, information, coordination of care, and equity, and will continue to inform our discussions with decision-makers.
What is Healthwatch West Berkshire doing now?
We are:
Continuing to raise women’s experiences with BOB ICB
Monitoring progress and seeking clarity on next steps
Keeping women’s health visible during a time of system change
Preparing to update residents as soon as new information becomes available
Can women still share their experiences?
Yes — and this is really important. If you have experiences of women’s health services, whether positive or negative, we encourage you to continue sharing them with us. Your voice helps strengthen our evidence and keeps pressure on decision-makers to act.

When will there be another update?
We will share updates as soon as we receive further information from BOB ICB. In the meantime, we remain committed to representing women in West Berkshire and pushing for meaningful, lasting change.
