There’s some exciting news for women’s health!

The government has announced that the Women’s Health Strategy is being renewed, with fresh commitments to make sure every woman gets the care and support she needs, when she needs it.

The renewed strategy aims to build on the progress already made, tackling long-standing inequalities and improving access to services.

It follows the recent news that menopause will now be included in NHS Health Checks, another positive step in recognising the importance of women’s health at every stage of life.

What This Means for West Berkshire

At Healthwatch West Berkshire, we’ve been keeping a close eye on women’s health locally ever since the original strategy and funding were announced. This renewed national focus is a real opportunity to make sure the voices of women in West Berkshire are heard loud and clear when decisions are made about future care and funding.

What’s Next

We’ll be watching closely as the updated Women’s Health Strategy is published in the coming months and will share what it means for women in our area, especially around access to community services, menopause support, and tackling local health inequalities.

Stay tuned, as we’ll be posting an update soon on what’s next for West Berkshire.
