Help Shape the Future of Adult Social Care

Adult social care is back in the national spotlight, with the Government announcing renewed plans to reform the system and improve support for people who need care, as well as for unpaid carers and care workers.

For many people, social care only becomes a focus when they or someone close to them needs support. Whether it's help at home, support for a disability, care following an illness, or assistance for older people, social care plays a vital role in helping people live independently and with dignity.

At Healthwatch West Berkshire, we know that local people have valuable experiences and insights to share. That's why we're encouraging residents, carers, families and communities to take part in conversations about the future of adult social care.

The Government has made it clear that improving social care is essential to supporting the NHS and creating a more joined-up health and care system. As discussions continue nationally, it's important that local voices are heard and that future reforms reflect the real experiences of people using services today.

We will continue to monitor developments and ensure that the experiences of West Berkshire residents are shared with decision-makers.
