Berkshire Healthcare Receives Prestigious NHS Status

NHS England has announced that Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BHFT), is one of six organisations across the country to be awarded Advanced Foundation Trust status.
The new designation is intended to recognise NHS providers that are performing strongly across a range of measures, including quality of care, leadership, partnership working, and progress in improving health outcomes for local communities.
According to NHS England, organisations awarded Advanced Foundation Trust status have demonstrated high standards of care, strong organisational performance, and an ability to work effectively with partners across the wider health and care system. The status also provides greater flexibility and autonomy to help organisations continue improving services and responding to local needs.
For West Berkshire residents, this recognition highlights the important role that Berkshire Healthcare plays in providing community health, mental health, and specialist services across the county, and also reflects the increasing emphasis within the NHS on collaboration between organisations to improve people's experiences of care and support better population health outcomes.
Healthwatch West Berkshire would like to congratulate Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BHFT) on achieving Advanced Foundation Trust status. Being recognised as one of only six organisations nationally to receive this designation is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication of staff, strong leadership, and commitment to delivering high-quality care across Berkshire.
