West Berkshire Council has released its latest Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) Summary, which highlights the key health and wellbeing challenges facing our area

A “Joint Strategic Needs Assessment” (JSNA) is a tool used by local partners (health, social care, local government) to understand current and future health, care and wellbeing needs.
In West Berkshire, this rapid summary uses readily-available data as a starting point for conversations and prioritisation, however it does not map all services or gather full lived-experience input
The report shows that while most residents enjoy good health, there are growing pressures, particularly around an ageing population, rising long-term conditions, children’s health, and inequalities between communities.
The number of residents aged 65+ is expected to rise by 27% by 2040.
Around 60% of adults are overweight or obese.
1 in 8 children live in poverty, and more than half of older people say they don’t have enough social contact.
At Healthwatch West Berkshire, we want to make sure your voice is heard in how these priorities are shaped and addressed.
What do you think are the biggest health challenges locally?👂 Where do you feel more support or services are needed?
