What is it?

The West Berkshire Directory is an online searchable directory of health, social care and community services for the district of West Berkshire.

On the website you can search by keyword and postcode for services under categories for Adults, Families, and SEND (Local Offer).

It includes listings for home care providers, advocacy services, mental health support, carer support groups, child-minders and many more. It's maintained by the West Berkshire Council and aims to give residents, carers, and professionals a single place to find local support. West Berkshire Directory+1

How can it benefit you?

  • Giving easy access to local support: Instead of navigating multiple websites or making multiple phone calls, you can use the directory to find relevant services quickly.

  • Better independence and wellbeing: Finding the right service or group (for example a day club, befriending service, carer peer-group) may help people stay more independent and connected within our community.

  • Carers and families helped: Carers, or those caring for someone with a disability or long-term condition, can use it to locate support, equipment, respite or peer-support groups.

How to use it

  1. Go to the directory website and enter either a keyword (e.g., “mental health”, “carer support”, “home care”) or a postcode. West Berkshire Directory

  2. Use the category filters (Adults / Families / SEND) to narrow down the search to the right audience.

  3. Review the service listings: contact details, description, eligibility, etc.

  4. If you can’t find what you need, there is usually a contact email or a help link provided. West Berkshire Directory+1
